The New York Census Research Data Center held three workshops in spring 2008 as part of its 2nd Annual Census Workshop Series.  This year’s workshops, which focused on mapping and spatial analysis, were held at Baruch College as follows:

  1. March 25th: Mapping, GIS and Spatial Data: U.S. Census and Beyond
  2. April 8th: Hands-on Introduction to ArcGIS
  3. May 8th: Spatial Statistics and Spatial Research Using the Census RDCs

The Center for Urban Research's John Mollenkopf and Steven Romalewski presented the keynote presentation at the first workshop, titled "The Spatial Dimension in Social Science."  Proceedings from each workshop -- including a video of the kickoff session -- are now online

The workshops were sponsored by the Baruch College School of Public Affairs, Newman Library, and the New York Census Research Data Center (NYCRDC).
